Laurie Ann Lepoff, a Dance Teacher in Oakland, California, did a series of ten Clarity Breathwork sessions with me to heal her migraines in 2010. In the third session she actually arrived in the early stages of a migraine and released it during the breathe! Click here for the full testimonial. “Last month I had tickets to the runway show at the Crucible, a very noisy busy flashy event. I woke up with a really bad migraine and thought maybe I’d just do the dinner beforehand with my friends and skip the show, but the migraine got so bad I couldn’t even do that. So finally I did the breathing (with about 2 hours to spare before my friends showed up to take me to dinner because I kept putting it off). Not only did the migraine disappear but I enjoyed the whole show with 2 hours of blaring music and flashing lights (major migraine triggers on any day) and it didn’t come back!”

“Right after our private breathe ended, I felt very energized even though it was late and after work. After I had something to eat, I slept really soundly and felt pretty different the next day.
For the rest of the week at work, which was Thursday and Friday, I felt a distinct absence of my usual anxiety, and a greater ability to focus and hold my group with my manager, colleagues, and my clients on a variety of different issues. My job responsibilities are spread out in a number of areas and I often feel like someone is always disappointed with me or wanting me to do something faster and better for them. For the rest of the week, I was able to really put all of that out of my mind and focus in a way I felt I have not been able to for a very long time. I think I am often distracted by a feeling of anxiety in my chest throughout the day, and I’ve noticed the breathwork both in our private sessions and in the many group sessions chipping away at the tension that has built up over time in the area around my chest, neck, and shoulders.
I have also noticed that my personal space when I am with people at work or elsewhere feels more fortified in a way. Normally, because I am a pretty sensitive person, it is difficult for me to not pick up on the emotions and energy of other people without it affecting me in some way. This can have the effect of causing me to stray from doing things I need to do or stay focused on my work. I have felt the space around me to feel more protective and less permeable to outside stimuli from other people or even noise or other influences. This has made a huge difference in my ability to stay present with my own needs and flow of the day.
I feel like there is still a lot more brewing inside. I know that clarity and a sense of being more connected to inner strength has emerged since our private breathwork session, and I am looking forward to see what else unfolds over the next days, and as I continue to more of this amazing work.”
Clarity Breathwork can help keep you centered when focused on a long-term creative project. Shooting a film, launching a new business or remodeling a home is about 10% creativity and 90% hard work. About a month ago on a New Dimensions Radio Program, I heard Terry Tempest Williams make the statement, “Courage is sustained attention.”
What a brilliant insight. It really made me think how many clients I have supported who have succeeded in manifesting their visions. I know how much courage it took them to stick with their project.
While supporting clients committed to long-term creative projects, I have noticed this “Sustained Attention” mode is when personal insecurities, old memories and limiting beliefs often surface. Writing a book, launching a new business, or completing a new series of paintings requires addressing and releasing any energetic blocks that stops the creative flow so you can continue to move forward.
A limiting thought like, “I’m not good enough” has to go if you have to make a deadline. Old wounds or past rejections can suddenly constrict energy flow in the physical body by causing an old back injury to emerge or cause you to suddenly not have any time to work.
Commitment takes courage. Being supported during the creative process keeps the whole experience manageable, exciting and even fun. Private Clarity Breathwork sessions are especially powerful because they create the space that allows you to let these blocks surface and release in a safe and gentle way. The focus is on you, your process and your project.

The second event coming to our area that I am very excited about is in Palo Alto at The Foundation for Mind-Being Research (FMBR). FMBR will be hosting a lecture and workshop by William Bengston, PhD., whose ideas and book I have written several posts on. The lecture on Friday, November 20, 2012 is titled: Lessons from the Lab: Energy Healing Experiments on Cancer. His two day workshop, The Energy Cure: Unraveling the Mystery of Hands-On Healing will be on Saturday and Sunday, December 1-2, 2012. Click here for more information.
I took this workshop last March and learned his “Imagery Cycling” technique. I have been very surprised at how much this little exercise has escalated abundance in my life. I am still going over my notes from the workshop and reading the books William Bengston referred to during his lectures and in his many conversations on the breaks. This workshop was a real eye-opener for me on many levels.
This is a rare and fantastic opportunity to hear about William Bengston’s latest research results in California. William Bengston is an engaging, funny and passionate speaker and he is also a really nice guy. One of the reasons I do Clarity Breathwork regularly is to release limiting beliefs. I have found many of my limiting beliefs to be imprinted in my body, dormant and therefore inaccessible until something activates them. The more I do Clarity Breathwork, the easier it is to detect if my intuition and my gut feeling about a current situation in my present life originates from my higher guidance or from something else– like my childhood conditioning.
Another dormant childhood belief spontaneously surfaced recently while I was working out at a gym with an outdoor 25-yard-lap pool. It had been raining on and off in California for weeks and on this morning it was starting to drizzle again. The pool was warm and inviting with soft white steam rising from the blue water. As I slipped into the pool, the first light raindrops started falling, creating intricate circular patterns on the water’s surface.
The pit of my stomach tightened. I ignored the sensation, started swimming and the feeling got worse. I even felt threatened, like my life was in danger. Being in the water was not safe. I stopped swimming after one lap and looked around. The other swimmers were leisurely doing their laps. No one looked dangerous or concerned. Why did I feel so uncomfortable? Should I get out of the water?
Suddenly it came to me. In Missouri where I grew up, we never stayed in the pool when it was raining. In my mind’s eye I saw images of myself and other children frantically scrambling out of the water at the first splash of a raindrop. We were told we would certainly be hit by lightning if we hesitated for even one second. My mother was especially vigilant about keeping us from getting killed by a lightning bolt, and understandably so. My mind had totally forgotten this experience of Midwestern life, but my body obviously still remembered.
I am still surprised at how physical this imprint was and how my strongly my body reacted to a situation it had been conditioned to believe was unsafe. I had never been swimming in the rain since I was a child, so my body had not updated the survival information: it’s safe to swim in the rain in California.
Before doing Clarity Breathwork, I don’t think I would have been able to connect with my body quickly enough to understand where the dangerous feeling was coming from. As soon as I became conscious of the childhood memory, the dangerous feeling vanished and I relaxed instantly.
That morning I had a remarkably soothing and peaceful swim in the gently falling raindrops.
